Skiing is one of my favorite things!

I love to ski!! I've been skiing since I was two years old and grew up at the base of whatever ski mountain my mom would be teaching skiing at that year. In high school I raced slalom and giant slalom and it is a passion of mine to this day. Every year I travel to Colorado and meet up with my brothers and sisters and their families to ski. Of course, I spend all of my time on the NASTAR course making believe I'm a teenager again. Since my mom was a certified professional ski instructor, we skied anyplace in the northeast for free. What a reality shock when I had to start buying lift tickets! I have been buying my own equipment since I was 12. Yes, I saved every penny from babysitting and mowing lawns to buy my skis and boots. I'll never forget the first pair of skis I bought were Kneissl and the boots were bright orange Lange racing boots. I broke one of my skis in half when ski jumping off the side of a mountain and cried. Skiing is expensive and if I could afford to live on the slopes, I would. I learned how to race on Grossinger's little slope with a T-bar in Liberty, NY, and also skied at Holiday Mountain, Davos, Gore, Windham, Hunter Mountain, Whiteface, Sugarberry, Killington and just about every ski resort in the northeast. I never skied in the western United States until I moved to Oklahoma. I drove 12 hours with three small children in tow to Keystone, Colorado, one year and I was in love. They had powder! I have since skied Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Aspen. Times, skis, and ski techniques have changed and I still ski with my knees together.
